Dear John, Dottie, J & S

We were so impressed with our first visit to The Cottage on April 15th that I knew the one line provided on the survey form would not be enough for us to share all our thoughts with you. 

To answer your question as to whether we've been to other clubs or not, yes, we've been to other clubs in the Northeast area. In comparison, The Cottage was very clean, warm and friendly, with probably the most relaxed atmosphere we've found at a club.  We were warmly greeted by "S" at the door and our great tour guides made us feel at home.  The facilities are well kept and very clean.  The decorating adds a nice touch. We were very impressed that we were introduced to the D.J., Bartender and Manager as part of the tour.  We've not experienced this at other clubs.

In response to the question as to whether anything could have been done to make our stay more enjoyable, the only thing that comes to mind is the temperature in the individual room. We used the available fans but it was still a little steamy. This could have something to do with the people in the room (wink-wink)

The information envelope we received with the event calendar, the welcome letter, coupon and questionnaire are great ideas. This shows you are truly interested in what members think and we appreciate that.

Jeff, we enjoyed meeting you and having the opportunity to talk with you. We understand that Friday nights are a little slower that Saturdays. This was not a problem for us and was actually nice for our first visit.  H***** still laughs when she thinks about how she got roped into "helping" with the contest.  We enjoyed that very much (wink). We look forward to many return visits and getting to know all of you better.

HELLO!

I can't tell you how much M**** and I enjoyed our visit to The Cottage.  The Hosts and members were by far the friendliest group we have ever encountered, not that we've had a lot of experience at different clubs.  As a matter of fact, we have only ever attended swing clubs about four times and it was very disappointing.  The host couple could have cared less, gave us a brief tour and went on their merry way acting as though we were a bother to them, and this was our first visit to a "lifestyle club", we were very new to the lifestyle.  

The members were standoffish and very difficult to engage in conversation.  Upon subsequent visits we found the members to be very cliquish and almost impossible to break into any group or circles.  Our last visit to a club in Maryland was our last.  The single male issue there has gotten out of control and M**** was unwontedly groped by different singles guys and the management showed no desire to do anything about it.

We decided to try The Cottage in March (2005) and we are glad we did!  The Hosts took considerable time to give us our tour, introduced us to the staff, sat down at our table and talked with us. Throughout the evening the Hosts would come to our table to see how we were doing.  The members were friendly, very easy to talk to, acted like we were old friends and made us feel most welcome. The single men that were there were very respectful and extremely nice.

We were given a 1/2 off coupon toward our next visit that expires in May, we have a favor, our situation is somewhat unusual. She lives in Maryland and I live on the west coast. My work brings me your way every few months and we'd like to use the coupon in June.  Would it be possible to extend the expiration date?  Even if this can't be done please know that we will be visiting you again!

We'd like to thank you and all of the people at The Cottage for showing us the hospitality that only true down to earth people could show. We would especially like to thank J&S, E&A and K&W. These six people have been the best people that we have met in the Lifestyle yet! They made us feel comfortable and like we were part of the "Family"! L... and I hope to be seeing a lot of you all in the near future and experiencing all the joys of the swinging lifestyle with each and everyone of you! You have a fantastic atmosphere and your club is in good hands with these people when you're not there. (We loved it so much we will be back for the wet t-shirt contest. L.... is buying a new t-shirt for the occasion!) Now that we know how the club is run, we can adjust ourselves and know what to expect and be a little bit better prepared next time?

Thank you for making a single person feel comfortable on their first night at The Cottage! I was not sure about what I was getting myself into whin I first showed up on Friday night, so I was quite nervous, and unsure of what to do! After pulling into the parking lot and talking to J.... a little, I started to get a better feeling. J.... said to relax and I'll enjoy the evening.

S.... at the reception desk was very friendly and courteous, with a little humor mixed in too. I started to relax a little, but still kept my guard up! The host and hostess, R&T showed me around the club. They were very polite and made me feel more at ease about being there! They also checked on me through out the night asking me how I was doing, as well as T... asking me to dance. All of this was making me feel like I belonged there at the Cottage! But I was still unsure of myself; and how to approach other people. I didn't know, this is all new to me! I was setting in an out-of-the-way spot by myself, and just kept thinking what should I be doing, and even thoughts of why am I here, everyone was couples.

That all changed thanks to another member of your staff! B... behind the bar. She was what I needed to crawl out of my shell!! I first talked to her when I made my reservation, and I thought she sounded like a nice person at that time. But the more I talked to her the more comfortable I felt at The Cottage! B... told me that when a seat at the bar opens up I should grab it. So I did! That was what I needed! B... introduced me to a lot of people and helped me to get some conversations going. That allowed me to start opening up, and getting to know people, as well as B...! We talked a lot on Friday night, and I think she is a great person. I hope the next time I return to The Cottage, and I will be back; I'll get a chance to talk to her even more. Thanks you for a nice night! The Cottage is the best club I've ever been in with 100% class. I don't know what I was worried about!

My first visit to The Cottage was an emotional roller coaster. It all started with the registration process. At the time I joined, I needed to write a letter requesting a membership. As I wrote the letter I wasn't sure what to write because I am a single male and, from the material I read, only a few single males are invited to join. Therefore, I figured my letter should state that I am a wonderful person. I was an amazing individual according to the letter. I was sweet, kind, compassionate, caring, and very outgoing. All of which is an absolutely accurate description of myself. The staff at The Cottage must have loved my letter because I received an information packet in the mail with a membership card. That was before the days of a membership fee.

Within the informational packet was the events calendar. It took me weeks to decide what event I was going to attend. Finally I picked the most convenient date and made the call to Dottie to reserve a space. I was amazed at how nervous I was making the call. Anyway, I spoke with Dottie and made my reservation. At that time, she gave me directions to the club and informed me that I must be there by 8:00 for my first visit to get a tour of the facility. She also informed me of the security guard that would be outside to direct me.

After I hung up the phone, I was more nervous than when I placed the call. I was now wondering what the hell I was thinking. I was headed to a mysterious place in the woods of Cashtown with a security guard and a group of people I know nothing about. My level of anxiety was raised. My thoughts continued to get the best of me during the days leading up to my first visit. I had so many questions. Why do they need a security guard? Do the people that attend have all of their teeth? Is it a safe environment? One can only imagine the thoughts running through my head.

Finally, the special day arrived. I got there around 8:15 as per my instructions. The security guard stopped me in the parking lot and asked for my registration. I was so nervous I gave him my entire name. He must of thought I was a complete moron since he only needed my initials. The security guard told me where to park and how to enter the building. I followed his directions, got out of my car, and gave the building the once over. The look of the building did nothing to calm my nerves. It is not the most attractive place. In fact, the look of the building scared me even more and crazy thoughts entered my head again. I mustered up the courage and entered the building. Wow, what an amazing disguise! I stood at the front desk and looked into the dining area and the dance floor. The area was incredibly clean and quite nicely decorated. I have been to weddings that weren't as nice as this place. As I looked around, I was greeted by the host couple and given a tour of the facility. I was in awe of the place after the tour. The bar was spectacular and the rooms were way nicer than anything I imagined.

The facility was far better than anything I had imagined and that helped to ease my anxiety. However, I was still concerned about the people that would be attending the party. Other than the host couple and maybe two other people the place was empty while I was on the tour. The host couple was very attractive. That led me to believe they were chosen because they were the best looking people to attend the party. Boy was I wrong, their were people attending the party that were absolutely gorgeous. They seemed to be coming out of the woodwork. I kept looking at the door but didn't notice an abundance of people enter the facility. However, as the clock approached 10:30 the place was packed with an incredible array of people. It seemed as though every time I walked down to see what was going on in the hot tub, I would come back to the bar to see ten people that I hadn't seen earlier. It was amazing the way the room filled with people. The influx of guests never seemed to stop.

I was tickled that I made the decision to visit The Cottage. I was quite shy and did a lot of people watching. I can't think of a better place to watch people. I could write a novel on the things that I saw. Anyway, I met some very nice people. The conversation and activities were great. I did not party with anyone that evening, but I am positive it was because I wasn't as outgoing as usual. I was trying to get a feel for the place and wasn't sure how to ask or get involved with someone. Being new to the club and the dynamics of the group held me back. However, even though I did not have a personal sexual experience, I still had an amazing time. I had so much fun that I have gone back several times since and have had some incredible sexual activities with some pretty amazing people. The key is to give The Cottage a chance and go for the fun and games. Don't go to have sex. The sex is fun but it isn't the best part of the experience.
